When using handpainted or variegated yarns always work with 2 skeins, alternating every 2 rows to prevent unsightly pooling.

When casting on a large number of stitches place a marker after every 25 CO stitches. You will save lots of time not having to recount your cast on. You will be on to knitting your masterpiece that much sooner.
